Het Geheugenhuis ('Memory house') was a one-day festival about the influence of modern technology on our memory. The festival was aimed at all senses that are of importance when memorizing and offered insight in the process of remembering. Besides, the Geheugenhuis wanted to contribute to ongoing discussions about the values and future of new media and media technology. Who knows how are memories will look like in 50 years from now?

"Do you see this house? If you look at it you only see a house, but it comprises everything, the gestures, the smells, the words of my life", the Dutch author Bernlef wrote.

In earlier Waag projects, a rich experience has accumulated with storytelling and reviving memories. Waag contributed to the festival using this vast narrative experience. The festival was held on 18 April 2009 at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam.

This project was organized with partners from various disciplines: Cultuurlab/Cultuurfabriek, Bonanza Films, Tamara Miranda, Hogeschool van Amsterdam/ Instituut voor sociale en culturele beroepen, Media Guild, Human.nl and Pakhuis de Zwijger. Douwe Draaisma was involved as ambassador (and speaker) for the festival.
