The 5th edition of ENoLL Summer School will be held in Amsterdam, from the 2nd to the 6th of September and is organized by Amsterdam Economic Board, Waag, the Amsterdam City Council together with the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL).
The theme of this year's event is "The Art of Living in a Lab; creative, smart & innovative cities & communities" where topics such as Smart Cities, eHealth, Future Internet, Open Data and Creativity will be at the forefront of discussions for our global audience of Living Lab and innovation practitioners. These are the workshops that Waag is engaged in from our Creative Care Lab perspective:
- Living Labs for health cities
- Serious gaming to support older adults
- Cocreation within an emphatic society
- Design for community well-being
- User driven development in hospital settings
On September 4th, at the main venue of the conference at De Nieuwe Liefde, Da Costakade 102 in Amsterdam, a programme called Lessons from the Smart Citizen Kit will run for 90 minutes. The main objective of the workshop is to share the lessons learned from the first large scale implementation of the Smart Citizen Kit, that took place in Amsterdam from March till July 2014. We will discuss the initial goals, process, technology, reactions and outcomes and end with a reflection on all of these.
There's will be a session about the 'Making Economy': From Making to Manufacturing. In this workshop experts in all the relevant fields come together to explore the current state of the art to see how the different emergent models can potentially emerge. Can Living Labs help bridge the gap between the isolated labs of the Making Economy and the reality of the broader market for manufactured goods?
Furthermore, from our Future Internet Lab programme: Digital Social Innovation – how can it be scaled, what are the barriers. This workshop will explore with people in the room how identified barriers and drivers to scale such as funding, skills, regulation, integration with mainstream provision and lack measures and methods for understanding impact can be addressed to support the scaling and growth of Digital Social Innovation in Europe. These are the other workshops that Waag is engaged in from our Future Internet Lab:
- Open Data exchange in Amsterdam
- City SDK API'S boosting smart city app development
- Stimulating a culture of innovation in city government
