Right before Christmas Waag got some very special news: De Digitale Stad ('the digital city') has been nominated for the Unesco Memory of the World list. With this list, Unesco draws attention to the preservation of documentary heritage from all over the world. De Digitale Stad is one out of four submissions that have been sent in by The Netherlands, and on the current list, sixteen out of five hundred objects are from Dutch descent. In 2023, after extensive deliberation, a jury will decide if De Digitale Stad is to be added to the Memory of the World list.
