The third PublicSpaces conference is a wrap! Last week, Waag Futurelab and the PublicSpaces foundation invited speakers and visitors to participate in a two-day conference, focusing on the realisation of a collective internet. It was a programme full of inspiring keynotes, meaningful panel discussions and active workshops.
This year's programme was more extensive and international than previous years, and engagement was high. Surrounding the many in-depth programmes, discussions continued to take place in the corridors and there was a strong sense of collective optimism. The extensive arts programme of this year was also a great success. For instance, The Silicon Passion got viewers thinking about technological issues and artist and scientist Vladan Joler's network maps brought clarity in the bizarre resource and labour network of Big Tech and AI.
