The Code for Children's Rights shows developers and designers of apps and games how to protect children's rights and incorporate them into their designs. 'The laws are there already, they're just not being enforced.'
Commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs, Waag developed the Code for Children's Rights, together with Leiden University, children, designers, developers and other experts.
Waag presented the Code for Children's Rights on 9 December. Subsequently, NRC spoke with Waag's research director, Sander van der Waal and co-developer of the Code Simone van der Hof, professor of Law and Digital Technology at Leiden University.
