Eclectis final symposium

Karien Vermeulen (Creative Learning Lab) will join the Eclectis final symposium in Brussels, that will conclude the project. The objective of the conference: presentation and debate on the recommendations of the Eclectis publication on the role of cultural and creative actors for citizens’ empowerment in the city fabric.

Within the ECLECTIS project, we encouraged citizens to learn more about their own living environments, by conducting curiosity-driven research and experiment with art forms to share their findings. We focused on European diversity, intercultural dialogue and new technologies as sources to stimulate creativity and new practices.

The project consisted of artist-in-residencies and workshops in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Kotor, Ljubljana, Paris and Torres Vedras. At these workshops, the arts, urban planning, architecture and new technologies were integrated. Artists guided citizens in their quest to find answers for local issues, through innovative and artistic projects. They used experimenting tools, DIY research toolkits and methods.
