Meet the Fablab: 3D printer (29/6)

Discover the 3D printer: a machine that layer for layer prints your 3D design to create a 3D object in plastic (ABS). With a 3D printer you can create all kinds of objects, like a phone cover, toys, small items and household objects like vases... just too many to mention.

Program

Prior knowledge about the Fablab or the machines is not necessary for this workshop. Everybody can participate. The workshop begins with a brief introduction about the Fablab and the principles of digital fabrication. Next, you will get information about the possibilities the machine offers and we will show you some examples of work made with the 3D printer. Then we will start with the actual production of your design, by preparing your 3D drawing. From this drawing, the printer will create the object. Finally, we will show you how the drawing is printed by the 3D printer.

What to bring?

Bring your own laptop to the workshop. Make sure you have installed a 3D drawing program (such as Illustrator, Autocad, Blender or Sketchup) on your laptop. Prior knowledge about these drawing programs is not required. We will teach you the basics of making a sketch. Of course it is possible to bring your own drawings, but we also have examples ready for you.

Cost

The price for this workshop is 75 Euro including VAT and equipment. You can pay this amount at the start of the workshop (PIN). Students get a 30% discount.
