Crafting the future: meet the scene
Within the CRISP/Smart Textile Services project, Waag collaborates with multiple partners to bring together the fast moving innovations in the textile field as well as in the technology field to create new applications. We see new, socially relevant inventions every day, based on a combination of old craftsmanship and new technology.
During DEAF there is a focus on Smart textiles; Waag's Fablab stars will be present to debate and lead discussions and make you discover what we are working on - under the inspiring lead of Astrid van Roij-Lubsen. In our Fablab we are daily involved in new inventions combining textile and digital fabrication - you get the opportunity to see these and meet the makers.
Meet the Scene is the place to extend your professional network at DEAF12. After each of the three debates (Crafting the Future, The Augmented Society and Thing Power) a Meet the Scene will allow you to continue the discussion in an informal way, shake hands with the speakers, and join a mix of key players in the field at their discussion tables to talk about the discussion piece they brought. Don't forget to bring your business cards!
