On April 21 the Marineterrein organises the third edition of Groenmarkt, which is part of the Groenfestival Oostelijke eilanden.
Waag's TextileLab has a garden of dyes on the front yard of the Marineterrein in which they grow plants that can be used for dyeing textiles. As many as nine different plants grow here, which together form a wide colour palette. The garden of dyes will be used for the Local Color project and is part of the ParkxPark pilot project which examines how old parking spaces can be transformed into valuable, sustainable places.
Visit our garden of dyes and come to Waag Futurelab's stand where you can discover how to turn your boring white socks into real works of art. We use plant-based dyes, such as madder for the colour red and bluewood for the colour deep purple. You can take the dyed socks home after the workshop!
