Waag will pitch a tent at the SHA2017 non-profit outdoor hacker camp this year, taking place in Zeewolde on August 4th to 8th. It is the successor of a string of similar events happening every four years. These are GHP, HEU, HIP, HAL, WTH, HAR and OHM.
Similar events are EMF Camp 2016 in the UK, CCC Camp and congress in Germany. The location is the Scoutinglandgoed in Zeewolde, 55km east of Amsterdam. The festival is organized for and by volunteers from and around all facets of the international hacker community. Knowledge sharing, technological advancement, experimentation, connecting with your hacker peers and of course hacking are some of the core values of this event.
Waag @ SHA: TSJA2017
Waag will be present at SHA2017. We’ll set up Techpolitics Village Tsja in collaboration with several partner organizations and individuals. The village is a meeting place for people and organisations that are interested in the political dimensions of technology.
The center of Tsja… is a big communal tent. Here we provide a meeting place and we’ll host a daily program. The program has an open structure and is collaborative. Individuals and organizations can each take a slot in the program and host their talk/discussion/workshop/…/ under the umbrella-theme of the political dimension of technology.
Organized by and with: Maikel, Rick, Henk, Tessel, Christine, Merel, Internet Society, Bits of Freedom, Waag, DATACTIVE, Buro Jansen & Janssen, Gr1p, Contrast Network and others.
