E-participation tools in The Netherlands

The project ‘E-participation tools in The Netherlands’ aimed to enhance the participation of citizens in The Netherlands, by offering them digital tools and Dutch municipalities and local governments the opportunity to use these tools in their daily practice.

In three workshops, organized in collaboration with Network Democracy an commissioned by the ministry of Internal Affairs, Waag presented eDemocracy applications to a number of Dutch municipalities. These were developed within the European D-Cent project. They offer several functionalities, like creating policies togethers with citizens, gathering new ideas or determine budgets.

An example is the Icelandic platform Your Priorities. This platform is now used by several cities and for this project a Dutch translation has been made.
