PICNIC Young

Creative Learning Lab, together with several partners in education, organized PICNIC Young coinciding with the annual PICNIC Festival. PICNIC Young brought a sparkling twofold programme with lectures and seminars for teachers and professionals besides workshops in new media and technology for pupils. 

Seminars for educational professionals

Seminars and lectures were always given by international experts in the field of media education and creative technology. Inspiring sessions for teachers and helpful to get updates on the latest trends.

Workshops for pupils

For pupils between 14 and 18 years of age workshops were organized, to experiment with creative technology in interactive workshops. These were aimed at developing talents, creation and learning to excel by design. Together with partner organisations these workshops provided a challenging programme for young people.

PICNIC Young started as an educational side-event at Pakhuis de Zwijger in 2007, then called PICNIC Jr. In later editions, it become the main educational programme of PICNIC at the festival area itself (Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam).
