What do services you use on the internet actually know about you? Waag has developed a board game within the Digital Identity Lab that can help start the conversation about privacy and the use of your data online.
'Ganzenbord'?
We chose the archetypal Dutch game of goose board as a form for the game, because the rules of that game will be familiar to many people. But in practice, playing with your data might turn out a little different than you are used to!
Available for everyone
We have already used the game several times in our workshops and from now on everyone can play it, because we publish the game and its rules under the Creative Commons licence Attribution-NonCommercial-Share Alike. Please note the game and all its components were drafted in Dutch only.
The components of the game
What do you need to play the game with 2 to 6 people?
- The game board - pdf (62 x 44 cm, can be printed on a smaller size if necessary)
- The attributes board - pdf (also 62 x 44 cm, to be used next to the game board)
- The rules of the game - pdf (A4)
- Two diceFiches and pawns: those from the original goose board can be used, or any other shapes, as long as they are in the same colour, so that it is clear which tiles belong to which player.
Have fun playing and keep an eye on your data!
