Together with platform Atelier Néerlandais (part of the Dutch embassy in Paris), TextileLab Amsterdam - Waag presents:
Bio Meets Digital (Biotech Numérique)
Exploring technology in the realm of fashion ecology today.
With the exhibition and during a masterclass, panel, discussions and different presentations we explore the potential of bio-tech and digitalisation and explore future scenarios for a fashion ecology.
The exhibition shows the work of artists and designers from France and the Netherlands: Violaine Buet (FR), Clara Daguin (FR), Iris van Herpen (NL), Aniela Hoitink (NEFFA, NL), Maurizio Montalti (Officina Corpuscoli, NL), Cecilia Raspanti (TextileLab Waag, NL) & Noumena (ES), Diana Scherer (NL), Amber Slooten (Amber Jae Slooten, NL) & The Fabricant (NL), Tjeerd Veenhoven (NL), Jeanne Vicerial (Clinique Vestimentaire, FR), and materials from the 'materiOthèque' MatériO (FR).
- The masterclass "Fashion tech asks for sustainability" by Pauline Vierne (Design Research Lab, DE) takes place on June 19th and feeds into the panel discussion that takes place on June 20th.
- The panel led by Valérie Lamontagne (AMFI and 3lectromode, NL) and the discussions will focus on the themes "Nature: the source of inspiration" and "Nature: the source of innovation" and brings together experts coming from the fashion and textile industry, the design field and education.
- On the 22nd, presentations are given by Carole Collet (Central Saint Martins, UK), Fabrice Jonas (ModeLab, FR), Ista Boszhard and Cecilia Raspanti (TextileLab Waag, NL).
