Fairphone has created a special set of wooden, 3D printed accessoires for its latest model, Fairphone 2, that are printed at a facility in your own neigborhood.
For this purpose, Fairphone started a cooperation with 3D Hubs and designer Alan Nguyen. Together they created the first wooden phone accessoires, specially made for Fairphone. The set exists of a dock and an amplifier. For these accessoires, Alan Nguyen used the wooden filament called 'ColorFabb woodFill 3D'.
Orders at the Fairphone webshop are linked to the network of 3D Hubs. This Dutch startup prints the accessoire at a 3D printer near you and also delivers it at your home address.
In an earlier 'Design Challenge', Fairphone and Waag already developed 3D printed accessoires for the first model of the sustainable and fair produced smartphone.
