Aslı Aydın AksanInstructor, Researcher

Aslı Aydın Aksan is an instructor and researcher at Waag Futurelab with a background in architecture. She specialises in shape computation, computer-aided design, digital fabrication, design education, craft studies, material and making processes, and fabrication of experimental prototypes.  

She previously did an internship at Waag's Fablab. Now she works as an academy lecturer for Fabricademy in the TextileLab, teaches modules in Fabacademy and Maker Skills courses for audiences in the FabLab. She conducts research at the intersection of digital fabrication and traditional crafts.

In addition to her teaching work, Aslı is a parametric design consultant, installation designer and maker. She enjoys making open-source machines and creating open protocols to use machines in new ways. She has a bachelor's degree (METU Ankara) and double masters in Architecture (IaaC Barcelona and ITU Istanbul).
